The Bureau of Indian Affairs (BIA) has been allocated approximately $500 million under ARRA. The oldest DOI bureau, BIA was established in 1824. It provides services (directly or through contracts, grants, or compacts) to approximately 1.7 million American Indians and Alaska Natives. ROO interfaces with BIA in an effort to prevent, detect, and report fraud, waste, and mismanagement within the bureau.
