We found that a law enforcement supervisor at Canaveral National Seashore (CANA) made an unwanted sexual advance toward his subordinate, a law enforcement employee, in December 2015. In addition, we found a pattern of harassment involving this supervisor and two other CANA employees. The supervisor denied harassing the three employees; gave vague, contradictory answers to our interview questions; and demonstrated a lack of candor during multiple interviews about the incident with the law enforcement employee.
During our investigation, we learned that a CANA administrative manager had allegedly made inappropriate remarks to the law enforcement employee and an administrative employee. He said that he did not intend his remarks to be harassing, but accepted full responsibility for his actions.
We provided our findings to the National Park Service director for action.
