Indian Land Consolidation: Need for an Appraisal Tracking System

As part of the OIGs ongoing monitoring and evaluation of the Departments actions on the land consolidation portion of the Cobell settlement, our advisory recommends that the Office of Appraisal Services (OAS) of the Office of the Special Trustee for American Indians take steps to improve the process, among them implementation of a centralized appraisal tracking system, and obtaining feedback from OAS appraisers on the selected tracking system.
