False Claims to Bureau of Land Management

We conducted a joint investigation with the Federal Bureau of Investigation into allegations that a subject purchased mining claims from the Bureau of Land Management’s (BLM) California and Nevada State offices using other peoples’ names, and submitted fraudulent claims to BLM on behalf of several individuals. Using various names and companies, the subject sold at least 12 fraudulent mining claims. 

 

The U.S. Attorney’s Office declined prosecution and we provided BLM with a summary of our findings.
