Description
We investigated an allegation that employees at the Gateway National Recreation Area (GNRA) purchased construction-related items exceeding the micropurchase threshold using their Government credit cards, and conducted the construction project with no regard for cost. We found that GNRA employees violated Federal Acquisition Regulation requirements and made excessive Government charge card purchases, completed a construction project without conducting cost estimates, and performed the labor for the projects and received overtime pay without properly reporting activity.
