Investigation of Alleged Misuse of Grant Funds awarded by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service

We investigated an allegation that a subcontractor submitted inflated invoices to the Vermont Department of Fish and Wildlife (VDFW) for work performed on a contract funded by a Federal grant awarded by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. Our investigation found that VDFW did not require the subcontractor to keep detailed records of time worked under the contract, and we did not substantiate the allegation that the subcontractor reported inflated work hours.
