OIG investigated two current Bureau of Land Management (BLM) employees and one former BLM employee who had allegedly used their official positions to manipulate oil agreements with private landowners for personal gain. In addition, it was alleged that one of the current employees had pressured an oil and gas company into hiring his stepson and that he had misreported his assets to the Government. Our investigation did not reveal any evidence to support the first two allegations, but we did find that the BLM employee had failed to disclose the interest he received from royalties in the year 2010.
