OIG investigated allegations that a former Bureau of Reclamation (USBR) accountant in Denver, CO, may have inappropriately used sick leave or leave without pay to teach a class at a local community college. We compared the dates the class was held with the subject’s leave requests on those dates, finding 1.5 hours of possible overlap. The subject, who is now on disability retirement, admitted to missing approximately half of the class sessions due to the disability, but could not recall the specific dates missed. The subject denied taking leave to commute to or teach class. We closed this matter with no further action required based on a lack of evidence.
