Description
OIG investigated allegations that a former superintendent of an Indian school in Wyoming misused her Government-issued tribal credit card by charging unauthorized items on her credit card during the months of March and April 2015 totaling approximately $12,000. In addition, she allegedly attempted to make a $4,000 cash withdrawal on the card at a Casino.
Our review of records substantiated the allegations of misuse of a credit card; however, we also determined that the credit card used by the former superintendent had been issued by the school, not the U.S. Government.
The former superintendent resigned from her position and made full restitution to the school. The U.S. Attorney for the District of Wyoming declined prosecution.
This is a summary of an investigative report that was issued to BIA.
