We investigated concerns that OIG auditors raised during an audit of costs claimed by an NPS contractor for hazardous materials remediation post Hurricane Sandy. The concerns were that some of the costs claimed by the contractor were excessive, and that labor time was improperly reported. We found, however, that the costs in question were allowable under the contract and that the contractor was not required to fully document labor time. We closed this case without further action.
