Investigation of NPS Superintendent

We investigated an allegation that a National Park Service (NPS) park superintendent occasionally used park housing for personal use to stay overnight. Our investigation substantiated the allegation. The superintendent violated the park’s Housing Management Plan. Specifically, we found that while the superintendent paid a daily rate for some nights of stay, they could not show that they paid for all nights. NPS disciplined the superintendent for “Conduct Unbecoming a Superintendent” by suspending the superintendent without pay for 5 days.
