The OIG investigated allegations that a male National Park Service (NPS) regional office official made two unwelcomed advances toward a female NPS employee. The allegations were referred to our office by NPS regional management.
We determined that the advances occurred over two consecutive days and after the second occurrence the employee told the official his comments were “not okay.” The events were not witnessed by a third party, but the employee discussed the unwelcomed behavior with colleagues soon after it occurred.
The NPS official chose to retire before his scheduled interview, and did not respond to further contact from our office.
