Contract Opportunities

Doing Business with DOI OIG

Government buyers publicize their business opportunities by posting information directly to FedBizOpps. Contractors looking to do business with DOI OIG and other Federal agencies are able to search, monitor, and retrieve opportunities solicited by the entire Federal contracting community. FedBizOpps lists synopses and notices of proposed contract actions, contract solicitations, amendments/modification, subcontracting leads, contract awards, and other business opportunities. DOI OIG business opportunities are posted on the Federal Business Opportunities Web site.

Tips for Marketing Your Company's Capabilities

In order to conduct business with the Federal government you must register at SAM.gov. Note that new registrations can take an average of 7-10 business days to process in SAM, so plan accordingly.

Learn everything possible about the Federal Acquisition system by reviewing information on the Acquisition Reform Network Web site and the Small Business Administration's Web site.

Become very familiar with Federal agencies, their components, their missions, and how they are accomplished. A good starting point is to review Federal agency websites.

Be proactive to identify contracting opportunities for your business. Prepare detailed capability statements or brochures for distribution to purchasing or contracting personnel within targeted agencies (include NAICS codes). Be specific in describing your firm's capabilities. Indicate prior experience, prior Government contracts, references, etc.

Check Federal agencies bid boards for contracting opportunities.

Not all Federal agencies operate the same; therefore, market only to those agencies that purchase the type of services provided by your firm.

Follow up periodically, but not excessively.
