We conducted this review in conjunction with the Department of Health and Human Services to determine whether the U.S. Virgin Islands (Virgin Islands) Department of Human Services (DHS) ensured that the neediest children received priority when filling Head Start enrollment slots.

In response to the 7-day outage of the OIG and DOI websites, which are hosted by the National Park Service (NPS), we initiated an inspection to determine the cause of the outage and to identify whether the length of the recovery was appropriate.

The April 2014 Semiannual Report to Congress summarizes the Office of Inspector General’s dedicated and successful work completed from October 1, 2013, through March 31, 2014.

NPS reported that they operate lockup facilities at 26 different sites. Of these sites, 11 include U.S. Park Police locations in the greater Washington, DC; New York City; and San Francisco areas.
